Walking In Victory
Since our trek began in 2020, Bridging the Gap has had two brothers achieve Glory, joining our Heavenly Father in the ultimate afterlife filled with joy and love beyond our wildest comprehension.
Brother Quentin Jones, affectionately known as “Q”, is recognized as the founder of BTG. He was one of the two men who during their neighborhood pandemic walk had the courage to ask the question “why don’t our Black men and white men worship together?” Q was an associate pastor at St. James Community Church. Recognized as not only the founder but as the group’s chaplain, he prayed liked Pavarotti sang – with unmatched heart and conviction.
Brother John Hodges created BTG’s curriculum along with Eric Adkins. Recognized for his fire as well as his compassion, John never found a racial topic that he was afraid to confront, including a formidable stance against White Nationalism. John, too, was a member of St. James Community Church.
Both are missed dearly and loved even more. As Q was known to say when asked how he was doing, both are “Walking in Victory.”
