The Beginning

Two men were walking in their neighborhood.  One belonged to a predominantly Black church.  The other, predominantly white.  Both were integrally ingrained in their respective churches that resided a mere mile from each other. The year was 2020.  There was a lot of time to walk as a pandemic ravaged community upon community.  Pandemic. Divisive presidential race. Racial upheaval. Economic strife.  At a time when the country had become so divided, the two believed the time had become increasingly important to have tough conversations – ones that birthed love and community.  Over that summer, men from St. James Community Church Alpharetta, Mt. Pisgah Church, and Alpharetta Methodist participated in a four-week bible study focusing on racial reconciliation that yielded the desire for further collaboration. The goal was to cast a wider net and involve men of other churches and communities with varying ethnic backgrounds.

Currently, men from more than a dozen churches in North Georgia have participated in BTG activities, small group discussions on racial harmony, and have become part of the fellowship.  BTG’s vision is to grow the fellowship to surrounding communities.
